Diwali - Safe, Green, Illuminating

We spoil Diwali and our days,

Then promises to stop our mean ways.

But our promise never lasts,

Because this Diwali you’ll again hear the blast.

It’s a way of lighting the sky, we say

But it’s actually Mother Earth we betray.

Still there’s time to put this to an end,

The environment is not that difficult to mend.

Let’s start this day,

By not burning crackers, I pray. 

If you start, others will follow,

This’ll bring more joy and less sorrow.

Every Diwali, crackers are burned,

Still you don’t realise the lesson to be learned. 

Please stop doing such things,

You’ll see the happiness it brings.

This will also be a key solution,

In solving the environment’s pollution.

So from this day, start your rally,

And celebrate an anti-cracker Diwali!

Safe, Green and Illuminating - Diwali will bring sweet memories, family, a house full of diyas, a heart full of enjoyment, the glow of happiness and the sparkle of joy. Then, do we really need firecrackers?
