Just A Bluff
Just A Bluff
Two friends sat together
And relived those old days,
Remembering how they laughed
During those joyful plays.
They sat together in class,
To them, their friendship was the best
If needed neither would hesitate
To help the other during a test.
Luck had planned something else,
For both of them in life....
Something that isn’t like friendship...
Something much like a strife
One got into a reputed college,
Hopes of future drowned what had been.
The other was in need of funds.
And soon jealousy crept in!
Could life be that strong?
To bring about this great twist...
To change friends for a life
Into names on the contact list?
"Life could have been better", one thought,
"Only if he was here," thought the other.
"Shall I call him? Would he answer?
Would he even bother?"
Finally they met after long forty years
In an old, old-age home,
Each driven out of his own house
By his own beloved son.
Now they sit and laugh and think
About all this funny stuff...
Nothing but the Friendship remains...
And the rest was Just A Bluff!
