It’s All In The Mind

It’s all in the mind,

None of it is real,

It’s what you choose to believe,

Not how you feel.

Wouldn’t that be nice,

Wouldn’t that be convenient,

If you can imagine it,

All could be yours in a moment.

Nothing bad, disappointing,

Or deficient; all wiped clean,

By the absence of thinking,

A perfect world in a flash.

Everything has a point of weakness,

An Achilles heel; so, does this,

It’s individual, personal, not easily,

Expressed; could it be repeated.

But probably not. How many personal,

Realities can life cope with? Would there,

Be any sort of collective society? Could,

There be a collective society?

That would matter. Humans function,

In a collective, deriving their identity,

From interaction with others. Can there,

Be a self if there are no others?

A suggestion, it’s all in the head,

And we try to create the environment,

Closest to our mental picture. Maybe?

Has a promise in explaining why we do things.

What we hope to gain. Alternatively,

It’s predominantly in our head,

The picture of the world we want,

Independently there are others with.

A similar vision, we seek them out,

To form our own collective. Has merit,

Either way, it begins and ends in our head,

 That’s why we write things down instead.
