When I slid my arm, gingerly, 

Around your waist

Afraid that you’d pull away

And you, gently, slid closer to me

To reassure me, that you wouldn’t

It was in those moments

When I casually brushed your hair

Tucking it behind your ear

And you smiled and did it again

Because I had missed a strand

It was in those moments

When you leaned against me

And I messed up your hair

Just to see you

Crinkle your nose and pout at me

It was in those moments

When I’d laugh at you

And you’d laugh at me

But at least we’d both be

Laughing, together

It was in those moments

That I thought we could be

Something, more.
