India : Then And Now
India : Then And Now
India the golden bird
The land of green farms
Land of stories that are weird
Land of cool breeze that calms
The British came disguised as traders
And stood up a mighty Raj
They were invaders
But they took up the Taj
They were the vultures who wanted
To capture the golden bird as their prey
They were the ones who flaunted
Their powers to petrify their prey
With merciless people to rule
Over the innocence and silence of India
But soon thrusted the cap of silence
From over the dormant volcano
Of patriotism of India
And the Britishers
were burnt
By the lava of Indian anger
After the British extraction from India
India was just like a barren land
This was to be ploughed by sons of India
And seeds to be planted by her daughter’s hand
Irrigated by the martyr’s blood
And harvested by leaders speech
Once again in peace will the squirrels be cuddled
And the teachers will teach -
No vulture can make us their prey
Until we burn them,
Through the lava of Indian anger!
Through the lava of Indian anger!
