In the Rain
In the Rain
We danced to the old retro,
Under the beams of silent stars,
And the umbrella of the street lamp.
Our hands clenched,
Glued with intimate warmth,
My one step behind,
Your one step forward,
With patter of rainwater,
Enough to drown every other voice.
Our laughs were flushed with glee,
As pearl shaped drops,
Concealed our rouged cheeks.
In the night so magical,
Overwhelmed with glorious love,
I twirled holding you
r finger,
Swaying in the dusk,
And you kissed my hand,
Taking over my every corpuscle,
With your tender touch.
I gazed intently in your eyes,
Like I found an eternity,
Beneath those pupils,
Confining galaxies,
And heaven,
Inside every ounce of breath,
Escaping my lungs,
Like tossed leaves.
A moment and I knew,
Forever wasn’t a myth,
If it was you,
I had to be with.
