In Memory
In Memory
In your revered memory I write,
Wherever you are;
You will be always our guiding light,
For we know you are not very far.
You chose to be a Doctor a noble profession,
You believed in noblity of man;
Not to create any impression
But to serve as many people as you can.
Then came that fateful day
Which is seared in to our mind;
You gasped as you talked to us, then just passed away.
Leaving your physical body behind.
As we looked in shocked disbelief,
Trying to revive you, trying to shake you
Our numbed mind told us in grief
You were no more, never again can we awake you
You lived as you chose till your death.
Leaving behind a lifetime for us to cry.
Seving your profession till your last breath.
Leaving tears for us to cry, till they ran dry
An obedient son,A loving husband, a wonderful brother
In our hearts you will always have a special place
For like you brother there will be not another,
Always amongst us with your smiling face.
In your revered memory I write,
Wherever you are,
You will always be our guiding light.
We know you are not very far.
(This poem is a tribute to my elder brother Dr Devi Prasad Menon who passed away suddenly)
