I Remember

I REMEMBER THE HAPPY DAYS...

…when humans displayed humanity,  

…when no one hungered for riches,  

…when no one stripped for luxury,

…when they smiled even in poverty,

…when the postman brought messages,

…when religion was not a divider, 

…when neighbours were like family.  

 

BUT NOW I AM SADDENED… 

...to see humans lose humanity,  

...to see so much hunger for riches,

...to see so many strips for luxury,

...the sad faces of poverty,

...to see no postman bringing messages,

...to see religion dividing humans 

...to see neighbours erecting walls.
