I am sad this Diwali

 The diyas and lights are lit everywhere

But it failed to light my soul

The sound of firecrackers is in the air

But it failed to ignite enthusiasm in my soul

The sweets are being sold at sweet stalls

But it failed to licker my taste buds

The rangolis are decorated in front of every household

But it failed to add colors to my soul

The purpose of this festival is to celebrate love, truth, and righteousness

But does it happen in the real world too?

We do Laxmi puja in our homes

to invite Goddess to visit our homes

whereas every married is Laxmi for the family

Will I ever find love?

People are wearing their best dresses 

But I don't have one

I seem to have every materialistic desire 

But still, I don't seem to be contented

With so many sufferings and pains in this world

How will I be happy this Diwali?

My life is no less than Macbeth

It's difficult for people to understand why I am sad this Diwali
