Heroes in Uniform
Heroes in Uniform
My heroes don't wear makeup,
And are oblivious of the word glamour.
They aren't glorified on the silver screen,
Nor they have a fan base.
They don a uniform instead,
In a smart olive green, or pristine white
Or the soothing sky blue.
And at times camouflage with the surroundings.
They stay away from their kith and kin,
For the sake of their beloved motherland.
Never once did they crib over,
Nor a crease was visible on their face.
Oft termed the men of steel,
Their hearts do sometimes melt.
At the sight of civilians enjoying with family.
Which, for them, is always in the oblivion.
They stand guard in land, water and sky,
Ensuring to eliminate every single spy.
They are my heroes forever,
For whom, my heart overflows with respect.
