Haunting Memories
Haunting Memories
Memories are never lost forever; they always linger near,
We may forget them for a while; hoping they'd disappear.
But then in our weaker moments; they just seem to appear
To haunt and to torment; and to raise our fears.
Our younger days are always spent; in frolic joy of youth,
With mischief and misdemeanour; we sail through growth.
At times the wrongdoings we may do; could be ugly and sour,
It also may be hurtful; to those who hold us dear.
The pleasant and those lovely things; that fill our growing years,
Would bring back memories and joy; to brighten and to cheer.
A heartbreak we that we've suffered; in our teenage years,
May cause us hurtful feelings; in our older years.
A heart that we have broken; and never could mend,
Would also cause much regret; when our hair goes thin.
Yet through it all we have to live; with an attitude of win,
And bear all those hurts and smiles; and feel its was no sin.
With thankfulness and gratitude; we live our days of favour,
Here on this earth which God gave us; to wonder and to savour.
So bear my friends, and live your lives; with much to endure,
For in your older years, you may encounter; memories azure.
