I live far away from destined tales,

I run away from known trails,

The clock keeps turning endlessly,

Each second is different, so why not me?

With every coveted book, I pick up to read,

The rustling sound of a crumpled page reminds me,

See, life’s a road with endless turns,

Its path is alienated from known curves.

But yet again here you are,

Flipping pages to escape reality.

So, I put down the book and sigh deeply,

As I greet you yet once again,

The whisper of custom, and its predictability.

Nature too tired of my whining,

Sends a gush of wind my way

It warns me yet once again,

Boredom stays boredom only so long,

Before turning into dreary monotony.

I get up to shut the window chaffed,

The wind relentless teasing,

Now a part of daily routine,

It flicks the pages of my diary mockingly,

Whilst the sun sheepishly hides away, as if to say,

The same old day yet another date,

A bit of fire in me fades away.

As time passed by, the clocks ticks grew louder,

Broke my ignorant semblance, echoed in every corner,

The realisation hit greeted me like an amiss old friend.

And told me what nature had yelled,

Passion and fire are what keep a soul alive,

Safety and responsibility are a part of life,

Yet call not your life,

If adrenaline gushing is a thing of the past,

If warm smiles spreading is a mystic thought,

If the beep of alarm coaxes a groan,

You aren’t happy with what you’ve got,

So off to an escapade, you should go,

Whilst drifting midst the clouds to find your fiery part.
