The Story Of my Acceptance

The Story Of my Acceptance

A stubborn heart of mine released all the cages which my mind locked since years,

That day, a tiny voice from within caressed my breath to reveal the truth concealed in fears,

The cruel tag of my identity pierced me horrifying with dreams all the night!

You are the odd one out! Smirked the gender forcing me to utter the truth bright,

Yes! That day I spoke up that this physically strong skin is just a portrait of appearance,

Somewhere a heart scared of being judged stuffed all his girly desires avoiding nuisance,

How could I scream that toy bikes and aeroplanes are not my thing! But soft toys!

Not only Shirt and jeans but Sarees and frocks were also my concealed joys,

Sorry papa ! I did not love the dress which you gifted me! Somewhere I was in search of pink,

But bluntly ordering my tears to be obscured, I hugged you with a delightful blink,

I don't still get why my teacher scolded the day when I asked her to gift me a female role,

Yes! I was entirely different from my peers and cousins and in their character I did mould,

Mom hit me hard when I applied her lipstick and make up to make myself beautiful!

She was enraged when she witnessed me wearing on a dupatta which covered me full,

What to do! Unfortunately a man I am who finds love in the shades of other men,

But today! I will utter the truth that my identity was not destined to be written with a pen,

And when I spoke up the truth, the silence which whirled terrified my innocent ears,

At last, I spoke up my unacceptable truth which I hid from my parents since years,

They witnessed my eyes courageous enough to face any consequences,

A heart of mine was supporting my unfading fortune inspiring me to jump fences,

And that was the moment when they smiled gently gifting me a sign of acceptance,

Caressing me they promised that I would not be judged on the basis of my appearance,

That was a successful day in my life when my father was finally proud of my a real identity,

My heart patted my courage who declared his gender with sheer courage and atrocity.
