Guiding Lights

Guiding Lights

When impedances fettered my hopes,

When life became akin to bleak tropes;

When the shimmer of exuberance faded,

And I was rendered wantonly jaded -

Thy exhorts chanted hymns of praise,

Sounding like trumpets on a heroic quest;

A formidable Jason to all the Argonauts who stargaze

And faith that I can carve out my niche among the best.

My incessant crusades do often take a toll;

I’m oft incarcerated by the insecurities of my soul,

As episodes of pangs of agony abound and recur

And I lose sight of when to discreetly demur -

 Thy aura suffused in me a long-lost belief

A belief to transcend the shackles of self-imposed grief,

Unabashedly embrace and unlock my true potential,

Follow an approach towards life that's prudential.
