From A Distance

From a Distance...

Death was a thought yesterday,

Birth is a future present,

When Angels laid me in laps of love,

To a life ,to be lived.

We are forerunners of ourselves,

For do we not see our long shadow at sunrise,

Which crawls into nothingness at noon,

The foolishness of castles we make,

In the life given to us,

The hands filled with gold,

Poisons the soul, stifles the laughter,

Stop chasing the rainbow,

Listen without speaking,

See with closed eyes,

The message is in your dreams,

Wake up to the dance of the dervish,

The Lord loves the one who knows without thinking.

What stops you from hearing the wind,

Or diving into the pristine beauty of sea,

What holds you back, to climb the peaks,

Not for the summit, but sheer bliss of talking with Nature,

Life is uninhibited, not confined nor caged,

Like the kite which rises against the wind,

So do I run towards a cliff, a freefall,

Knowing my guardian angel shall hold me,

The trust, the belief, that we are born,

To a rapturous harmony, a song in the soul,

No castles or footprints will define us,

Lord gave us mind, body and soul,

And freewill to follow our heart,

From a distance.

We will always be our own forerunners,

So why not rejoice and sing the song of life,

Walk barefoot and feel pulse of the Earth,

Our guardian angel smiles,

As long as our child is alive,

For when we call upon death,

Life answers, in a loud voice, inseparable,

No epitaph, none, save I roamed and lived,

A nomad and to the fullest,

The twin pillars of eternity,life and death,

And we fill the space within,

One fills us with feelings, other liberates

Us from pain,

To be born again, 

From a distance.
