Friends Forever
Friends Forever
Friends,
Do forget to count the number of steps they cover
Between the day and night they rover
Inspired they have been
And roll like rolling water
To grind the hard rocks even
Can’t see who is above or who is lurking
They are as constant as the pole-star
Whom Hercules will fail to destroy or mar
For their friendship is not an agreement on paper
Or made of straw that vessel on the water
But an accord of heart with the other
Where minds play witnesses rather
They embrace and walk holding hands together
Above threat and above danger they are
Taken it as their life’s mission-
Whether packed or at leisure
But step out of sorrow or pleasure
If the day is cloudy or sunny
Glued together,
Even when they are penniless or have money
Then the world looks up to them to worship
And earn from the treasure of ‘friendship’.
