Flight

A sound so light as a feathery flight.

A wish so bright like a star tonight.

A gentle thought like a breezy night.

A simple want that quells my mind.

I look up to see the sky,

Far above the heavenly light.

O, little bird be my guide,

I for once would love to ride.

Take me on those talons wide,

Across the serene Ganges tide.

Lend me the jewels of your eyes,

For I wish to see the spectrum Lyre.

Lend me your wings, O, bard of Bees

For I too want to sail the seas.

Let me see Apollo rise, 

Giver of life, the progeny of wise.

Let me hear the zephyr mumble,

Let me hear the thunder rumble.

Let me seep in the whistles of elves,

Let me be drunk on the quartet bells.

Let me see the sky brought to life,

Painted blue by Zeus' strife.

Let me feel the ice-cold rain,

Hopping down the cloudy terrain.

Let me smell the blossoms below,

Let me swoon at the beauty mellow.

Leave me never and keep me near,

For I am awestruck here.
