Farewell
Farewell
The trees rustle along his steps
As though they knew
It was his last day
The sun even dearer
Perhaps it remember
A dear long friend
The bench that he always seat on
And ponder about his decisions
Lay aloof as leaves falls on them
As to stop him from leaving
The campus that has being
His home for 35 years.
A young ambitious man
Losing his job to war
He found himself standing
In this very campus 35 years ago
And how he despise the job
And never had he imagine
That he did one day cry
Over the very campus..
From being a lad of twenty five
To an old man of sixty
Half of his life spent teaching
And now it's time to rest
His heart heavy
His souls reluctant
As the students stands in line
To bid farewell..
Making his way to his last class
He always had so much to share
And only few to listen it
And now words are few
With even the chattering birds
there to listen..
"Farewell my beloved students..
I am now old and grey
But you are young and free
Behold ! the world awaits your service
So rise and lead the world
For to rest is now mine
And to dream and achieve is yours
And when the road get rough
Remember my words
"Rest if you must,
But don't you dare give up!"
