Eyes
Eyes
She stared with loneliness
Into swirling irises.
They looked Oh! So familiar.
They seemed to allure.
Those pools that shone
Like dazzling diamonds.
Those pools that were prone
To childlike curiosity.
She looked into the eyes
That twinkled with wonder,
That gleamed with mischief,
Dazed as though, a spell they were under.
She peeped into the depth
Of an ocean of maturity.
She gazed at the stars
Of a galaxy of mystery.
Those eyes that seemed
Well beyond their years.
Those eyes that held
Knowledge of many tears.
She looked unabashed into
Those dauntless eyes.
The eyes that smiled alone.
The eyes that were her own.
