Envy

I mistook you for my friend,

Though, in reality, you were merely an acquaintance

I reposed confidence in you

Thinking,friends like you were very few

You were jealous of me 

It was obvious,only I couldn't see

I wanted to be your decent competitor

But you made our relationship much more bitter

Achievement was your life's only ambition;

Blinded by which,you discarded all other notions

Trusting you was the biggest mistake of my life

For,your sharp words had really hit me like a knife

Even after deceiving me,someday, if you ever achieve fame;

Sorry my dear,I don't even want to mention your name

Ignoring you was the best decision of my life

And see, now I have everything I need to thrive

Sometimes,when I sit back and recollect my past days

I feel it right that we had parted ways

Friends are one of God's best creations,

Hence, everybody should treasure this relation

For all those who try to distort this precious relation,

Ignorance is possibly the best solution.
