Dreams Were Never Ours!

We are the less fortunate,

Dreams were never ours!

Our life is only a struggle,

A struggle to quench our thirst, to satiate our hunger,

To cover our naked body,

A struggle to stand against all adversities and survive!

 

What comes to you by right,

It doesn’t even come to us by chance.

We are the less fortunate,

Dreams were never ours!

 

Ours is a life of struggle,

Of hopelessness,

And despair,

It is engulfed in darkness.

 

Our world is surrounded by inequalities,

Of rights and opportunities.

It begins and ends there.

Dreams were never a part ours!

 

But we too are the future of this country,

We too have the rights.

We too want to reach out for our dreams,

All we ask is for a fair chance,

Maybe then some dreams will be ours!
