Dream

You cross my mind with the speed of a shooting star..

As I lay on the grass beneath the starry sky,

Your captivating aura, your mystifying grace,

I close my eyes, smiling to myself

And feel your palm caressing my face.

The surreal touch of your skin,

Your warm breath against mine

I pull you closer to me,

Our feet dancing to the beats of our hearts..

I watch myself melt into thee.

You hold me still with your penetrating gaze,

Taking my hand, you guide me through dreaded alleyways.

I lose myself to the glint in your eyes

And watch my sufferings fade into a distant haze.

As I wrap my lips around yours;

Your lips, soft as the petals of a rose,

The sun shakes me off my reverie with its brightest beam

And I find myself all alone on the grass,

Realizing it was all but a beautiful dream.
