Her
Her
Her eyes an amber pool
With a smile crooked in amusement
She longed for love and trust
Her heart scattered to those she cared for
Like the freckles on her skin
She is strong both in mind and body
The sadness in her hides deep
Behind her cheery demeanor
She values love and affection
A prize she wants to claim from her prince
Her heavy heart bound with chains as he chooses to be apart
Love always ran deep and abundant
As an underground spring
Slowly her smile softens and her eyes lose glimmer
She wants him but why not him back
Her mind wanders in curiosity
Anger beginning to burn like wildfire
Put out with sadness’ heavy rain
Numb
She tries to climb out but scared to fall
Her thoughts and wonder begin to crawl in
Ideas she regrets and pulls her deeper
All of it screams I miss you
Once her prince returns out of stressful slumber
Her faith shaken and weak
The heart says I’m so happy you’re back
Her head screams palter
Intuition hushed and put to bed
Is he just a rose with thorns
Or a dream come true
Her fingers yearn to feel his hold
His chest once her warm home
But will she get burned
Lessons being learned
Whether to pursue or end
Love never lost
But certainty is...
