Double Standards
Double Standards
Internalization
You find it scandalous to see a woman in beachwear
I find it obnoxious when your clothes float up in the air
swimming in the sea, billows up, exposing underwear.
You're comfortable with that, but don't stop to stare
at women in swimsuits, dressed right; not to bare.
Yet you stand on judgment, that's quite unfair!
You watch lawn tennis; women in sportswear
Your frown deepens, you think, how could they dare
Expose legs in public square; indecent you declare.
Yet in the privacy of your room, you don't stop to glare.
Inside your mind, you indulge in imagined affairs
To the outside, you pose to be a saint in prayer
Hypocritical, moral policing in a swivel chair.
You cut such a sorry figure, you're not even aware,
Your one of its kind, neither here nor there.
The smack of double standards, does anyone care?
