Dearest Treacherous Mind

Dearest Treacherous Mind

You won yet again,

Dearest treacherous mind.

You had promised me

That you would never again,

Be hurt, be wounded,

By those sharp words.

Of whom you had perceived

As your loved ones.

Yet you did that again today.

You let yourselves to be bruised,

To be harshly wounded,

By their insensitive words.

You made me lose that facade once again.

That facade of strength and happiness.

And made me reveal my vulnerability,

Yet again.

You made me shed those tears,

Which I had suppressed far beneath,

The layers of my heart.

You made me bleed,

Yet again.

Why dearest treacherous mind?

Why can't you let me be at peace?

In my fake world,

Fake happiness and fake justice.

Why don't you let me,

Be oblivious to the loved ones' fallacies?

Why don't you protect yourselves,

From all that hurt and injustice?

Why do you always fall victim?

Why dearest treacherous mind?
