The smell of the debris was putrid,

Anyone would want to get out of there as quickly as possible,

People will have to shower for days,

The house will not be there but the memories will,

People might have been cooking cornbread in the oven

when the kids take our attention away from the cooking

you might be oblivious and throw a towel over the pan,

Things are things,

Days gone by where you might not think of it,

It’s dead until the first anniversary when you have to relive the pain.

Be happy that you didn’t lose people in the fire,

Things can be replaced when people can’t.
