Child For Ever

Grow up not you foolish child;

Don't you know what time could be.

It turns the beautiful innocent mild,

That heart of yours into ugly.

Why do you hurry? Why do you wait?

Just what do you think would growing get?

It slashes your mind, it crushes your soul.

It takes you into the world of hate.

You stay your age, don't grow up kid-

For the grown up life is a maddening lead.

It takes your life, it fills you with strife.

It allures you and then gets rid.

You may earn a name, you may earn some fame;

You may get that thrill of growing big.

But don't be mean, and see what I mean-

You won't realize when your cap turned wig.

You can jump, you can skip, you can run, you can leap,

You can do as you wish with no one to complain.

But the old are now lost in their anguish deep,

And wish if even they could fly a paper plane.

This childhood is yours, and you get it only once.

So waste it not dear in things vain and pompous.

Growing is inevitable, and time has no mercy.

So now when you can, enjoy it in tons!!!
