Burning Loss
Burning Loss
Fire
A huge wave
Of red and orange
That consumes the place
And causes everything to change
Change
It's the only constant of life
He remembers it from somewhere
A line is spoken by someone he loved
And cherished and cared
Loved
It stings to use past tense
For now, that person shall never return
Like the gash on his forearm
The loss burns
Burn
The fire inside him dies out
He has no will to fight
The life that burned in him
Now extinguishes with no light
Light
Is what she was
A contrast to his darkness
White to black
Now succumbing to nothingness
Nothing
He has nothing anymore
House, Family, belongings
The fire ate it all
He can't help laughing
Laughing
In his hopeless situation
He lost both his wife and child
But now thinking back
He can't help but smile
Smile
Ten years ago
They met when their building was ablaze
Now he was losing her
In similar ways
Way
The way this world works
Surprises him
But for now, he will let
His tears get the better of him
