Bottled Up

Bottled Up

Enjoying with waves,

No one around me,

I went up and down,

Even tried to catch it.

Sun out from its duty,

Up the sky, almost dark,

The wind touching my hair,

Birds flying off.

Suddenly, suddenly up came a strong wave,

Pulled me in, towards it.

Hit my leg in a stone,

Looked down at my thick leg,

“Hey! What’s this?” I asked myself

I took it up, a green-dark green bottle.

Corked in tightly, a paper inside.

Went towards the shore, curiously.

Sat on the dry sand,

Uncorked it with my mouth,

Paper in my hand opened it excited,

It was certain, it was a letter,

Faded legible letters it had,

Written with blue ink,

I read it out, tough though.

It was from a sailor.

Dated way back to 1999,

A Sailor's letter to his brother,

“I will sink now, this is for my brother love

Who doesn’t know, I’m in the sea,

Reach this letter to this address,

Behind another address for my brother to go.

Thank you so much that you saw.”

I read it again and again

If I wasn’t wrong it was for me!!!,

Address to the house I live in!

My brother went sailing?

I was sad. It was dark.

I hurried to the other address.

I took a taxi, wetted its seats.

My Brother who went missing 21 years before!

A big white house,

Tallgrass towards its left and right,

I went in and knocked firmly,

I knocked and knocked loud enough.

“Hey boy! There is no one there.”

I turned back, an old man with a walking stick,

“Who lived here?” Asked I,

“A young man named Adam."

Is this my brother’s house?” asked myself.

“Who are you boy?” the old man asked,

“I’m Joey, Adam’s Brother.”

“Come to my house, I have something.”

I followed that smiling man with a walking stick,

“21 years ago Adam told me this,

‘When I leave, My brother will come.

A bottle is there to be given.”

Curiosity increased in me.

A transparent glass bottle in his wrinkled hand.

“What about his wife and children?” I asked.

“Lost them all in a road accident.”

Uncorked the bottle with my mouth.

“Follow these rules, Says Adam

Your life could be over-turned

A life you dreamed of.”

A letter and a rusted key it did have.

'Joey, my love, you are not alone.

Go to 'LA' your lost wife is waiting,

Go and open my house locker, plenty of cash is wasting,

Begin a new life my Youngman,

Don’t ask where I had been,

A secret is not meant to be revealed.”

“In the last tour with your wife

In the shipwreck, she survived,

The girl you saw dead was her sister,

The sister she hated the most was there.

In that big ship that sister remained unnoticed,

After that incident your wife was sick,

Before her recovery, you had left,

All I know Is, till here. Rest you find my boy.”

I Opened the locker filled with cash,

The empty house looked haunted,

I kept it opened for any,

Moonshining and smiling,

I went in search of my dearest wife Hazel,

She knows something about my brother’s life,

A brother who was a sailor

A brother who became my saviour!
