Beloved Coconut Tree
Beloved Coconut tree I often wonder How I can be As resourceful as you are To Humanity?
With a trunk so tall and slender, And fronds so spread out and leafy, You bear coconuts with its sweet water, To quench our thirst during the summer humidity.
Your coconut fruits are delicious, They add flavor to our dishes, Your coconut oil is nourishing, They prevent our hair breakages.
Your shells help create eye-catching crafts, Your husks are a natural scrubber, Your trunks have been fashioned into rafts, You are well known for your sturdy coir.
Your fallen branches help make roofs of a poor-man cocoon, Your green fronds are used to weave pretty baskets, Your midribs are used to make the versatile garden brooms, Your oil is used in eco-friendly caskets.
You are a selfless divine tree, Demonstrating Nature’s affection knowing no dearth, This is the constant reminder for humanity on our dear Planet Earth.
