At Your Worst

When the world inside you is black and white

You question, when will the sun rise?

Long days of wait and patience

Where is the sunshine

Where are the presents?

 

Your eyes open, and it's dark out

You wish there were no clouds about

 

The question ponders....Why?

Why is it me?

Why am I being put through, this misery?

You blame others for you being at your worst

The truth is, you were the first

 

The first to tell yourself, you are no good

The first to tell yourself, you are a fool

Unaware, it was you who put you there

 

Love, it's okay

You're only human, you're allowed to make mistakes

The sun will shine, and you will be awake, and remember it's

never too late

 

Just like a phoenix who burns itself.

You can burn the feeling preventing you to be yourself,

And how it's reborn from it's own ashes,

You'll regenerate from your worst clashes

You'll be stronger, for you came out of the hurt

You'll be thankful for being at your worst

 

It didn't give you presents,

Instead it taught you lessons

It is not a curse

Merely a shepherd, who picked you up and put you in the right herd.
