An Ode to the Evening

When I said what you mean to me

You said I was just imagining it all.

Your lips pronounced me an outcast

In the forbidden garden of your company.

Your voice, the incredibly soothing panache,

Your fingers, with the soot of household work,

Your feet with their skin falling off,

Imbue my heart with a subtle fragrance,

A fragrance that I understood as love,

Unconditional, not mere attraction,

But a worshipping gesture,

Out of immense respect,

That I felt towards you, 

The Evening of my desires,

The powerful Female Being that rescued many,

Of her students from the obscurity of failure,

Becomes a light to the near and dear,

And a word of solace to my broken heart,

In the melodious voice, 

Capable of creating miracles, 

That I keep playing,

Till my ears start,

Feeling her nearness,

In-person, so close to me,

While my heart kissing,

The waning twilight skin of her feet,

In unspoken agonies that sprout from my being.
