An Ode to "The City"
An Ode to "The City"
I am a Mumbaikar at heart, It will always be my part, Be it the Juhu Beach, With the " Chowpatty", And the "Ragda Patty", Or the Jahangir Art Gallery, With opportunities a plenty. The Haji Ali shows me, Hails me, calls me, Tells me tales of unity, Of secularism, of oneness, The Govindas Restaurant, Gives me a glimpse, Of the Indianness of the City, The Oneness in diversity, We Are One in tragedy, in comedy, In Life, in Death. Let us not forget the rains, The Floods, the Damages, We have come out of it We have defeated it, And proven our grit. The locals never let's me forget, The chugging of life even in death, That we are a City of Life, Of Resilience, And a Love for Life. Let us never forget, "The Taj", Where we lost a lot, The Leopold Cafe, Which is a witness to the loss, Still we are here, Standing as one, Standing as a team, To defeat anyone coming out ways. Let the "Mighty Corona" come, Let the Dragon unleash its fire, We are still here to face it, To come out as one. But let us not select The same old idiots, With family name the only Qualification, To lead us, To tell us, That "Bars" and "Nite Life", Is More Important than our lives. To let crowd gather, At times of social distancing, To try and divide us, By vernacular addressing. OH! Let the City of Resilience, Remain the City of Life, Unity and Resilience.
