Adieu!!

Did you see life in rewind,

Did you see life ending through our eyes,

Did our words prepare you in any way,

To foresee what lay ahead.

Drifting in and out of the delusional world,

Did you comprehend our pain!

Was our efforts enough,

Or, did we fail?

Surrounded by strangers in a sterile world,

Whereas it was home that you yearned all the way,

Was the stay justified in any way?

When the end was almost sure.

Lots of thoughts,

Of what could have been,

Lots of words,

Of hurt, anger, and pain,

Lots of love,

For those left behind,

And eager impatience,

To meet that beloved who left before you.

Were these your ending thoughts,

Or, did the physical pain overtake all?

Former, I would like to think,

As you lay alone away from all,

And we stuck in a dilemma between despair and hope.

 

Adieu! as hard as it sounds,

But necessary as life goes on.

Spurts of emotions,

Crowded by the practical world.

This is for us as long as we live,

While you continue your journey into peace.
