Ache

A heart once whole, now shattered and cracked, 

Torn apart by words that can't be taken back.

 A love once true, now turned to pain,

 Leaves a heartache that can't be tamed.

The memories haunt, like ghosts of the past, 

A love that faded, like a dying flame at last. 

A once bright future, now bleak and cold, 

Leaves a heart feeling lost and alone.

The tears fall freely, like rain from the sky,

 A heart once full, now left to die. 

The pain is real, and hard to ignore,

 A heart that's broken, can't be mended any more.

But in time, the wounds will heal, 

A heart that's shattered, can learn to feel.

 And though the pain may linger on, 

A heart can love again, and carry on.
