Tragedy

A Wasted Day I Deserve

A Wasted Day I Deserve

6 a.m. appears on the clock

I get antsy, I wait for what seems a year

6:45 a.m. appears on the clock

Keys in hand, I relax as the car door shuts

I pull onto the street and accelerate into my demon liquor in my mind

Jack Daniels leaves my lips saying to the nice man at the window

He has it waiting for me as if you knew my name

He smiles, hands me my change

Followed by a brown bag full of my disease

With the side of Dr Pepper,

I pop the top feeling the burn

A wasted day, I deserve
