A Talk With Mirror

A Talk With Mirror

One sunny day,

It was the mirror,

Who began talking.

For me, it was first shocking.

"Sometimes, one should think of everyone as deceit,

For you should be your only belief."

Tough to decipher,

Tougher to define,

What was it, which mirror wanted me to shine?

One gulp and he smiled crookedly.

Then I realized, that not every smile is trustworthy.

"The truth, the lie, the good and bad. There is a world beyond this. Sometimes you have all in life but nothing makes you glad."

Considering the mirror talks a baseless dream,

I tried to ignore him and applied my magic cream.

"The beauty, the image, and the reputation. The world is oblivious to it that it all vanishes in cremation."

I knew by now that mirror won't give up.

So I decided to throw a question and waited for the answer with the eyes of a pup.

"Why are your thought so dark, when there are still people outside who will stand by our side and never tear us apart?"

This was mirror's chance to burst into laughter,

As if this was the end and no beginnings hereafter.

"The world may be full of people standing by your side. But why can't you be your own captain and be your own pride? What makes you think that you need someone to rescue. Be your own faith which is beyond temple and mosque."

Goosebumps touched me gently than ever. I came to know that it was always thoughts which were arrested by fever.

"Now when you are left with a question in mind which will make your thoughts skew.

I want to tell that change begins from one and that is why I thought to fix you"

These last words of the mirror are engraved in my heart.

I daily try to provoke him to speak again.

After all, I am a human, this time his absence is tearing me apart.
