A Tale As Old As Time
A Tale As Old As Time
I think no soul
Has never heard
The tale of sorrow
Of these star-crossed lovers
In a land faraway,
Before it became the city of romance,
Lived two prestigious families
Stuck in age-old vendetta
From one of them,
An innocent girl
From another,
A passionate young man
Either by coincidence or fate
They fell in love at first sight
When their families were full of hate
How could love arise despite
To their desperate plea
A priest wed them secretly
But due to the young man's impulsivity
They had to part temporarily
Refusing to marry another,
She drank a potion and slept like dead
Then came her confused lover
Who drank poison to follow her "death"
Awoken from slumber
She saw her dead lover
Took his dagger and whispered
"Let's be together forever"
Such is the story
Of the foolish star-crossed lovers
Hoping in another life
Their happily ever after
