A LITTLE THANKS FOR THOSE WHO DESERVE SOMETHING GREATER
A LITTLE THANKS FOR THOSE WHO DESERVE SOMETHING GREATER
The pandemic has envisaged us
We too have been creating a fuss,
The lockdown doesn't seem unknown now
To keep distance has been our vow,
We have been enclosed in our luxurious nests
While frontline workers have been put to test,
Doctors have worked day and night,
Ward boys have put in all their might,
Nurses have changed drips
The paramedics have run infinite trips,
Plenty of flowers on them have been showered
Many of them have been put to graves lowered,
The garbage picker has collected trash
As neglecting his duty might have been rash,
Delivery boys have rung bells
Hoping that you keep well,
Security personnel have guarded ways
Keeping watch on all days,
NGOs have delivered food
As to the poor, the world has been rude,
Worker trains have run on tracks
The driver has constantly been at maps,
Cashiers have counted money all day long
Ensuring that people do not queue along,
Vehicles have gone to all corners
Ensuring supplies reach across borders,
Reporters have still been reporting live
Compelling truth to thrive,
Courts have kept doors ajar
To help justice shine like a star,
Bureaucrats have fought for public rights
So that democracy reaches new heights,
Farmers have plowed pretty hard
To ensure none is hunger scarred,
Nature too has done its bit
Sending us sweet melodies from the tits,
God has shone his guiding light
Indicating there's hope in near sight,
The situation is tight
But we need to keep up the fight,
Let's join our hands
To form seamless humanitarian bands.
