A Letter I Will Never Post

At the stroke of 10 pm last night, my heart died.

In those hours of darkness, I saw a light.

‌As you passed by ruffling your hair. I stood and wondered there.

Are you real?? My mind came to rebel.

I saw you in the same clothes you had on in our last meetup.

Those twinkling eyes were looking the same, at me in tears.

I saw the faded pink lips kissing the rolling tears, now and then.

I saw your perfect nose making sniffing sounds, as and when.

I saw your dark stubble overly grown on your face.

Seeing you, my poor heart ran round and about through the maze.

How would I not see those dark circles, clinging around your eyes?

How would I not notice that weary smile?

I saw it all, how badly you failed to put up the show.

It seems that you made your last impression. Forever. Just like your first vow.

Lost in the world of reality.

My mind grasped- "You will never find your way"

Wherein, my heart wandered back home.

In no time, I saw you laughing weirdly.

And eagerly wanted to know why?

I didn't know whether to make you stay or let you fly?

All I knew I still love you and want to hear back the same.

With a thud, my heart fell down on the face of the earth.

As I saw you moving farther and farther.

I ran to match your steps in haste.

Only to be left behind with the memories of good old days.
