A Heart Gone Cold
A Heart Gone Cold
Stranded in a place I've never been before,
A place as vast as the sky itself
I look around searching for your image, in the sea of crippled beliefs
I let out a sigh from those corners of my mouth which have become antique in anticipation
I run to seek shelter during the storm under the shed of my imagination, soaking wet still
My stomach rumbles, eternally hungry for love
My throat aches, breaking into useless wailings of sorrow
Trapped in this cage of moon dust, I pray to run into the sun
Juggling with my heart as fate wills to
Dropping it on the ground as it shatters without a single sound
I tear open those wounds which you gifted me ages ago,
Only to realise that they sting as fresh
I rub my hands together to keep me warm
To atone for a heart, gone cold.
