A Good Day
A Good Day
What defines a good day?
There stands no reason that a good day
Would be or would not be without any misfortune
A tragedy, a pain, or a laugh, a hug, or a kiss, in tune.
But all good days are not alike, much depends on situations ,time ,place, body frame, also ones age,
Some are smooth, some slow, some bring sunshine
Some with intense blow, memories deep in rib cage.
When young , a good day would be a day in summer
Roaming far alone or with friends, more or less as a commoner
Going for a local bus ride from home to city
Eating fresh or stale; moments, some funny some gritty.
As a country kid, crossing frantically those densely green blends
Drinking fresh flavoured water from water strands
Lying on the back in the grass and looking at the magical shapes
In bright dull grey clouds without boundaries and maps
lying on stomach on the floor with coloured blossoms around
Butterflies, wasp, beetles, flying around, no lands bound
Listening to the melodious tunes of those high waterfalls
Also being picky in clothes from shrinked shops, not malls.
A good day would be a day in school, when one had learned something new
Never known before, browsing minds with friends, a few
Going to a library surfing and fluttering the pages of books,
Learning ,quite sharp, and depth, immence in these primary elements.
Deep in winters, going out in the snow, properly covered nose and lips
Sticking out the tongue, rolling soft snowballs, catching snowflakes
Back home sitting around the bonfire, looking at the window frost
That hot supper mother would offer on the floor,
legs crossed
For a boy from coastal region, a good day would have been a long swim
Settling catamarans, tightening nets, catching fishes fat and slim.
Climbing a tree for a wild fruit or a coastal coconut
And with a strong push back from the top, on wet Sand tumbling about
Good days are not planned, they just happen in a simple way
Can this fact be nudged in any manner, this way or that way?
Life comes with all situations ,in all phases
Some are good some bad,
But each day has some memories to give,
More with laughters, few sad….
