Once I dreamt to be a poet

But then I was lost in a dream

Awakened by the twinkling of your anklet

What a beautiful theme!

Once I dreamt of loving you

But then I was lost in the world

Where I looked for things anew

But I didn't forget your word!

Once I dreamt of making it up

But then that was not to be

As I was inside all locked up

I just wished I could flee!

Once I dreamt to be a poet

And spend my life
