A Basil Peeks From Open Window
A Basil Peeks From Open Window
At a night too dim for the open eyes,
Memories flash.
A soft winter night with a table in the corner,
Music blending with talks,
Delicacies all scattered dispassionately -
Eyes and touch starving for more.
Sweet perfume that smells from her wrist,
A modest outfit flaming too many fantasies,
Sparkling eyes,
Arousing flavour on her lips,
Endless time and frozen summer trees.
Maddening desire to throw away the table
And kiss her wildly under the moon -
Unaccustomed eyes watching the event
Of entwining lips and utter headlessness.
Alas fades the former flash,
Leaving a dulled heart racing,
Ache menacing gently in the blood,
Feeling the bed and it's heat on the back.
Short, soft breezes chill the sweat,
Intoxicating mind a little more,
Dissolving the pain and senses all,
In that one Picture -
Too real to let go,
Too burning to hold.
