72nd Republic Day

On our country's 72nd Republic Day,

To Almighty God, let's all pray.

Let our founding fathers dreams;

Always be held in high esteem.

Values enshrined in the Constitution;

Be the beacon light of our great nation.

With Freedom, equality, justice for all;

Amongst all nations, let us stand tall.

May people of all castes and creed;

Live in harmony in everlasting peace.

May we shun all violence and hate,

And progress at an accelerated rate.

Of discerning minds, our legislatures be a confluence,

The hallmarks of our Judiciary, be justice integrity, and prudence.

For edifying discourses, that bear fruit,

May our media always be channels of truth. 

May the morale of our armed forces be always high;

May they be safe from the enemies' evil eyes.

May our farmers get the fruit of their toil,

As they labor for us in the sun on the soil.

May all our democratic institutions are protected; 

By evil forces, may they be not infected?

May the underprivileged get the means to live;

The marginalized, in the mainstream, a place, let's give.

Let justice and integrity prevail;

In our lives without any travail.
