Unsung Heroes at Home
Unsung Heroes at Home
We have unsung heroes at home,
Who would rather play, run and roam.
Wonder what’s going on in their mind?
Try as much; it’s difficult to find.
Suddenly they are confined indoors;
Like stuck in a boat without the oars!
It’s tough; their little minds to tame;
To explain to them, new rules of the game.
But; yet they all are a patient lot,
All day and night in just one spot.
They try to figure out; why no school?
They miss their friends to play the fool.
Of course they miss their teachers dear,
And all in school, who bring them cheer !
They crave for open spaces to run around,
To release their pent up energy, unbound !
So, on whom do we put the blame ?
It’s we elders, who are partners in shame!
A sincere apology, we owe the kids,
On whose freedom, we have slammed the lids.
They deserve from us, all round applause,
For being with us without a pause.
Let's enjoy their mischief and naughty tricks ;
Their jokes too; and mess the house in a dirty mix.
Bear their tantrums, if they come your way;
Read them an extra story, in night or day.
As the war on the scourge, we continue to wage;
Our kids seem to’ve matured before their age.
Hopefully, these testing times will not last;
Till then, with them, let’s have a blast!
Let’s teach them, of this planet, to take care;
So in future, better than us, they always fare!
