Laughter in their eyes,
Warmth in their hugs,
Love in their souls
I captured it whole.
They took me on their travels,
They made me see the world,
I was their companion,
Their memories I behold.
I now stand where they left me,
Alone and unfazed,
I saw them a moment ago,
Smiling in my face.
They were very near the edge,
Posing for my benefit,
And all of a sudden
I saw them fall in the death pit.
Standing alone here, I wonder
Am I to blame?
Using me, they had wanted
To attain all fame
I, their camera, am only left
Their pictures in me yet to be seen,
I wonder, though, about their end.
On the life that could have been.
