You Lay The Foundation
You Lay The Foundation
When kids have you, they don’t need added sugar,
Let them explore life’s myriad flavors, be it sour or be it bitter
Don’t be their armor, when they fight their wars,
Be their cheerleaders and see them shine as stars
Don’t be their cushion, when they have a fall,
Be their pillar of strength and see them rise tall
Don’t take them places, when they seek directions,
Be their guiding light and see them reach their destinations.
Don’t sweeten life for them, with “extra” care and attention,
Make them architects of their life, you just lay the foundation.
