When I found my peace in Goddess Durga
When I found my peace in Goddess Durga
Today I offered white crepe jasmine to Goddess Durga
and asked for peace, serenity, calm, and purity for me.
So that I can be wise over smart and set myself free.
Eyes closed; palms folded together in the worship of Devi.
A few petals of jasmine fell on my lap and coalesced into my white saree.
I smiled and tucked the flower into my hair, knowing I have no baggage to carry.
Devi showed me lotus in one of her hands and made me realize
the power of detachment; the way lotus stays in the dirty water yet
show the beauty of being. No one but I has to be the lotus of my fate.
In the name of the daughter of mountains, I pledge to the divinity
that flows in me; that I have been seeking in the outer world.
And I shall be the white bird of faith with the great wings furled.
