She

She is a happy bird;

She is free, she is limitless.

Breaking away from the cages of deceiving protection,

She chose to raise high against all the odds.

She was well-fed, she was much loved,

She was caressed and hailed as a delicate beauty.

Yet she chose to go to faraway places- unknown and unheard,

Leaving behind her, an endless trail of inhibitions and dashed hopes.

Life was meant to surprise, challenge and strengthen her;

All she had to do was wake up from a cozy slumber of years.

The vast open skies, the green covers, and the dark clouds - everything seemed to inspire her,

Nothing could ever thwart her burning desire.

Her strong willed heart and her relentless wings promised her a life of opportunity, a life of joy, a life of purpose;

Every night she came home to her little nest – sometimes broken, sometimes with renewed vigor.

There were going to be sunshine days and the rough storms,

Yet the truth lay bare for her to see – she would make a place for herself sooner or later.
